What is the difference between a manual violin and a mechanical violin

2022 10/19

There are two types of violins, one is manual violin and the other is mechanical violin. These two types have certain differences in production, price or sound.
The first is production. Mechanical pianos are generally divided into two grades. The first grade is: plywood violin and pressure plate violin. Plywood violin, its top, back and sides are made of plywood, and the accessories are usually made of plastic or ordinary wood. This violin is generally a children's toy or a display in a restaurant or hotel. The platen violin is made of maple for the front and back, and the accessories are generally made of jujube wood. This kind of violin is also generally used for props or decoration. One level higher than them is the semi-manual violin, most of which are done by machinery, only the assembly and inlaying are manual craftsmanship. Generally used for beginners. The handmade violin production from accessories to assembly is a step-by-step effort by the luthier. From the price point of view, it is generally a mechanical piano. The price of a piano usually ranges from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands through the exquisiteness, color and reputation of domestic first-class luthiers. If it is customized from abroad, it may be three to four times that of domestic luthiers. In terms of timbre, there is no doubt that the more exquisite the workmanship, the better the timbre.
